The Chlorophytum orchidastrum features glossy perennial leaves with beautiful flashes of orange colour towards their stems. It's sometimes known as the 'Fire Flash' or 'Mandarin Plant' because of those characteristic orange hues. In summer, it blooms with tiny white flowers that last for a single week.
This plant comes from the tropical regions of southern Africa, and usually grows to a height and spread of around 2 ft. As a plant native to the tropics, it's best kept in a bright room out of indirect light and requires weekly misting to mimic the humidity of its natural environment. Regular watering to keep the soil moist is also the best bet for helping your plant to thrive. That being said, the 'Green Orange' can withstand irregular watering and low levels of light, so if you're a little forgetful when it comes to plant care, it might be the one for you!
