The Alocasia Elephant Ear 'Tiger' boasts sturdy animal-print rhizomatic stems. Multiple stems are branching off from a single base and broad arrow-shaped Elephant Ear leaves!
All Alocasias are loved for their big, arrow-shaped leaves, but it has the added attraction of animal print stems.
Though the glory of the Zebrina is in its 90s jungle-print, the leaves are also pretty amazing, with their strongly articulated veins and deep green colouring. The leaves, as you can see in the photo, grow in neat little curls and unfurl as they grow. A truly unique beauty that brings that WOW in every room.
Alocasias like high humidity, bright indirect light, warmth, and lightly moist soil
Relatively easy to care for, so perfect for plant beginners
Statement piece that works in every room with sufficient light
Brings that jungle and exotic feeling with its animal print stems into your home
Does best in a well lit room but direct sunlight can scorch leaves
Keep soil lightly moist. To avoid root rot, give small amounts of warm water regularly
Keep warm, ideally between 18-22°C
Feed me some slow release fertiliser once a month during the growing season.
Keep away from nibbly pets and children
Wipe leaves to remove dust
Don't panic if my leaves fade and die, this could be because I'm entering my dormant period. I'll need less water during this time, and will bounce back in the Spring.
