A lot comes to mind when we think of this Phalenopsis orchid. Its arching stems and large bunny eared leaves give the plant a strikingly graceful appearance. The stream of flowers resemble a colony of butterflies.

The 'Moth' orchid as it is often referred to, are exceptionally easy to care for. And have been long used in interior design applications as well as gift giving.

White flowers are thought to symbolize friendship and joy. This particular cultivar is named 'Green Pixie'. Each stem is densely packed with light spring colored flowers. Are they yellow? Or are they green? We think they sit some where in between.

Care Instructions

Light

Place your orchid in a shaded spot where it will receive plenty of bright indirect light or filtered light.

Temperature

Provide cool temperature in the Autumn and Winter season, 10°C to 15°C. And during the day in Spring and summer keep the temperature warm from 21°C to 24°C.

Feeding

We highly recommend using a balanced fertilizer formulated for orchids. 0.02-0.02-0.02. Fertilize with every other watering once buds appear into the summer. Cease feeding your orchid after the blooms have fallen off.

Toxicity

No, the Phalaenopsis orchid in non-toxic. However, we do not recommend ingesting them.

Care

Check the axis of the leaves and stem for any mealy bugs. Wipe leaves down gently with a microfibre cloth. After your blooms have fallen off, trim back 3cm from the first flower. Do not remove the flower spike. New flowers can bloom from old spikes.
