The famous Aloe!

The most famous of the Aloe family, the Aloe Vera is a super easy plant to care for, it tolerates being forgotten about for long periods of time so if you're irregular with your watering habits, this is the one for you. It's also perfect for sun worshippers who tend to overdo it - just snap one of the stems and rub the sap straight onto skin for instant relief. Keep it in a bright spot and only water once the soil has dried thoroughly.

It has pale green, thorny leaves on a stout trunk. Inside the stems is a gel that has been used to treat a plethora of ills. If you are a creative cook, there has been some experimenting with the gel and why not become creative?

  • Easy care house plant for your home
  • The perfect plant for sunny places
  • Fast grower in pretty much any condition
  • Classic house plant for every collection
  • Great support if you accidently burned your skin, simply use the gel inside the fronts

Aloe Vera Care Guide

Light

Six to eight hours of direct sun is best for me.

Water

Water me when my soil is dry to 2" below the surface. Make sure I am not sitting in water.

Temperature

I will grow well in normal room temperatures and I'm tolerant of dry air. To encourage flowering, however, it is best to give me a short winter rest at a temperature of no more that 10°C (50°F).

Feeding

I don't need much in the way of food. Fertilise me once a year in Spring, ideally with a formula rich in phosphorus.

Grooming

I will not need much grooming.

Care

I will live a long time with the correct care.

Aloe Vera General Information

Origin

I originate in South Africa.

Size

I have been known to grow as tall as three feet, but I'm not likely to get much higher than two, so I won't take over your house!

Toxicity

Whilst I'm known for being an all-cure natural remedy, I'm best kept away from children and pets.
