Producing tall stems that closely resemble densely packed thickets of Bamboo. It is easy to see why the Dendrobium orchid has been nicknamed the bamboo orchid!
The Kumiko cultivar branches are covered in large frilled blooms. The entire bloom is an ombre of delicate pinks and with a sunny bright yellow center.

Each flower emits a sweet scent that is both pleasant and delicate. These petite blooms will last for several months before returning to a vegetative state.

Dendrobium 'Kumiko' Plant Care Tips

How to care for information:

  • Do not place your Bamboo Orchid indirect light. Make sure it is safely tucked out of reach from the sun's harmful rays. Their leaves are susceptible to burning if exposed to direct sunlight.
  • A sufficient amount of bright light must be provided. Make sure the plant receives a minimum of 50% bright light during the day.
  • Temperature fluctuating is key to encouraging your orchid to rebloom. There should be an 8 to 12°C difference between day and night temperatures.
  • Blooms usually last 6 - 8 weeks in the ideal environment. Once they have fallen off, your orchid will need to sense a temperature change to rebloom. You can encourage this by:
  • Maintaining cool day and night temperatures in the Autumn or Fall of 10°C to 15°C.
  • Elevate the day and night temperatures in spring once buds appear from 16°C to 18°C.
  • Maintain day temperatures once blooms form at 27°C to 32°C. And Provide lots of light!
