Dendrobium means tree (dendron) life (bios) and is a direct reference to how this orchid grows directly on trees. Sometimes referred to as a ‘Bamboo Orchid’ due to the growing style of its stalks.
The towering bamboo stocks of leaves are adorned with a truly unique flower colour. The ‘Thailand Black’ Cultivar has a deep burgundy red colour and almost black centre. This orchid is more like a living bouquet when it is in bloom. Each flower emits a light sweet scent that is both pleasant and delicate.
